The current situation and development trend of silk printing in China

1 the market space of silk printing

since the 1980s, due to the accelerated research and development of silk printing materials, equipment and processes, silk printing has played an advantage in the competition with other printing methods, increasing at a rate of 7% every year. At present, about 70% of wide format color silk printing adopts spot color printing, and nearly 30% of wide format color silk printing adopts four-color overprint, and the proportion of four-color overprint is still increasing steadily. The China printing and Imaging Association, in cooperation with the China Statistical Information Consulting Center, sent questionnaires to more than 3400 silk printing factories across the country. The results showed that 70% of the enterprises' annual output value was about 1million yuan. However, at present, the output value of silk printing in China accounts for less than 2% of the total output value of printing, and there is still great potential to be tapped and broad prospects for development

the sampling survey shows that the annual consumption of ink used for silk printing in China is about 20000 tons, of which about 54% are imported products; In the 1950s, electron microscopy was used nationwide, which opened a new era for the study of fatigue mechanism. The annual consumption of silk is about 10million meters, of which about 62% is imported silk; The annual consumption of photosensitive adhesive in China is about 4300 tons, of which about 57% are imported products. And the larger the printing factory, the larger the proportion of imported products

it is expected that in the future, silk printing will maintain a rapid development speed, the technical level will be gradually improved, and the industrial scale will be further expanded. According to the prediction of authorities, the proportion of world silk printing output value in the total printing output value will rise from 5% in the 1980s to 10%. There is no doubt that China and India are nurturing greater development space and potential markets. It is expected that by 2005, China will become the largest printing market in the world, and China's silk printing will develop in depth and breadth in the future. "Deep" means to develop to a higher level. Advanced technologies such as computer design, plate making and electronic engraving have long been widely used in the international silk printing industry, but these new technologies are still in the research and trial stage in China; "Guang" is to develop new silk printing products, such as outdoor large-scale silk screen advertisements

2 characteristics of silk printing

silk printing can use many types of inks, namely: oil-based, water-based, synthetic resin emulsion, powder and other types of inks. The missing printing method of silk printing determines its characteristics of thick ink layer, bright color and strong hiding power. The ink layer thickness of silk printing can reach 30 ~ 100 μ M (the thickest ink layer among all printing methods), with strong decorative effect of relief. Due to the elastic and flexible plate, silk printing can be printed on the surface of substrate of various materials and shapes

ink or coating with coarse particles and different solvents can be selected for silk printing to adapt to the printing of different types of substrates. For example, the inks only used for paper packaging decorative materials include: glazing paint, UV gold imitation etching ink, foaming ink, fragrance ink, pearlescent ink, liquid crystal ink, phosphorescent and fluorescent ink, and the 200mw/800mwh energy storage peak shaving power station project obtained by Dalian Rongke energy storage Co., Ltd. in 2016 is a landmark event of the utilization of all vanadium flow battery technology, such as crystalline gloss ink and UV "ice flower" ink

with the continuous expansion of the application field of silk printing, people pay more and more attention to silk printing. Silk printing can print all kinds of plastics, textiles, metals, glass, ceramics and so on. It is suitable for commerce, advertising, decoration and other fields. Whether soft, hard or fragile; Whether plane, curved surface or spherical surface can be printed

silk printing can be combined with electrolytic process, bronzing process, calcination process and plastic molding process to produce different types of artworks

3 development of silk printing technology

among China's silk printing enterprise groups, manual and semi-automatic printing machines are still the main ones before the normal use of experimental machines, and the proportion of manufacturers using full-automatic printing machines is small. Moreover, full-automatic printing machines are mostly used in porcelain fancy paper and packaging industries, and they are monochrome machines. The overall technical quality level of equipment and materials is not as good as that of foreign products. In order to ensure the printing quality, larger silk printing plants mostly choose imported products. In recent years, some foreign companies with advanced technology have set up manufacturing plants in China, which will help improve the technical level of China's production equipment products

German Baolong company is the first printing ink manufacturer in Europe. The printing and pad printing inks produced by this company are widely used in the printing of auto parts, membrane switches, ID cards and high-grade signs. In November, 2003, the u-sg series products launched by Baolong company are a kind of high concentration, one component ink that can be printed and pad printed. Its printing materials are widely used, including metal, pretreated polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polycarbonate (PC), etc., especially on untreated polyester (PET) sheets

Hangzhou Kewang Special Ink Co., Ltd. developed liquid photosensitive anti sandblasting ink lpr-860 in November 2003, which is specially used for the production of precision sandblasting graphics on various bright substrates. The characteristic of this ink is that there is no need to make plate graphics for silk full-scale missing printing, and the graphics resolution is high. It is especially suitable for the production of small batch, multi variety and high-precision sandblasting patterns. Its photosensitive film has excellent toughness and elasticity to ensure its good sandblasting resistance. The thickness of the photosensitive film is directly related to the ability to resist sandblasting. The lower the mesh, the thicker the photosensitive film, the stronger the ability to resist sandblasting, but the graphic resolution is low; On the contrary, if the eye is high and the photosensitive film is thin, the graphics resolution is high, but the anti sandblasting ability is low. The number of wire mesh should be 60 ~ 120 mesh. The sandblasted photosensitive film can be easily stripped after soaking in tap water. It is an ideal material for making fine sand carving patterns on bright substrates such as glass, ceramics, marble, wood, mirror metal, etc. Lpr-860 has two colors: blue and red

the launch of a new generation of automatic silk printing machine developed and produced by Nanjing Panda Hitachi Technology Co., Ltd. has broken the long-term dependence on imports of this product in China. Silk screen printing brush machine is the first process equipment of the patch production line, and patch technology is widely used in the information industry. Nanjing Panda Hitachi Technology Co., Ltd., a joint venture between Nanjing Panda Electronics Co., Ltd. and Hitachi, Japan, specializes in the development and production of high-precision np04xp silk printing machines suitable for the production of fine pitch electronic components such as QFP, SOP, BGA, CSP, 0602, etc. it has the characteristics of high rigidity, high precision and stable fine pitch printing. It is suitable for high-precision silk printing of miniaturized, multi variety and fine spacing electronic components, and the price is about 30% lower than that of similar foreign products

4 integration development trend of silk printing

① combination with traditional printing methods

the emergence of the combination of silk printing and other printing methods determines that silk printing plays an important role in the printing field and gradually becomes one of the main printing technologies in the packaging printing field. At present, the rotary wire printing unit with high printing accuracy plays a role in anti-counterfeiting printing by cooperating with the flexographic printing machine. In addition, the combination has the following functions: first, the rotary wire printing unit works with the flexographic printing machine to enhance the attractiveness of the product. In addition, this method can also obtain metal effects such as gold and silver on the substrate. If it is necessary to show the effect of embossing and sanding on cigarette packs, drugs, cosmetics and other packages, it can be easily achieved in this way. In addition to the above, this combined printing method can also print substrates used in harsh environments, such as batteries, paint labels, etc; It can also print substrates that need to focus on product brand and logo, such as drug instructions, injection instructions, etc. From the current development trend, some printing enterprises require to configure the rotary silk printing unit on the flexographic printing machine when purchasing the flexographic printing machine, which also shows that this combined printing method is more popular on the other hand

② combination with digital printing

with the rapid development of contemporary science and technology, computer and electronic scanning technology have penetrated into various fields, and the environmental impact assessment of science and technology and projects has been carried out; In March, 2017, industry technology was cross integrated. At the end of the 1990s, with the continuous maturity of computer digital processing technology, a major technological revolution occurred in the printing technology, which is computer to plant (CTP), also known as digital direct plate making. Now there is a direct imaging method for template making. Instead of coating photosensitive glue, the silk screen plate is coated with a chemical coating instead of spraying hot wax. Instead, the computer is used to scan the original image directly on the template that has been sprayed with chemical coating, and then flush the chemical coating with water to form an image. Another direct imaging method for plate making is to directly scan the laser image with a computer on a special metal table, which can eliminate the silk and photosensitive glue, and does not need complex stretching process. The template made by this method has no deformation, alignment and high printing accuracy, which is the direction of development in the future
